The tradition continues with the 44th annual Speights Dog Derby at Coronet Peak.
Showcase your dog handling skills as you traverse the mountain in the Country Dog Race with cash prizes.
1st place prize $750
2nd place prize $500
3rd place prize $250
Or join the action in the Townie Dog Race with your fury friend and compete to win!

A free beer and burger will be given to all competitors so come up and take part in this memorable event!
Online entries will close on Thursday 27th September at 4pm.
On the day entries can be made at Coronet Peak between 9am - 11am (cash only $20).
Registrations open: 9:00am - 11:00am on Saturday 29th September.
Race Starts at: 12:00pm Saturday 29th September.
Terms and Conditions :
All entrants must be 18 years or over.
Speight’s Dog Derby has a $20.00 entry fee.
Speight’s Dog Barking entry is free.
Attendance at the safety briefing is a condition of entry. Any competitor missing the safety briefing
- will not be permitted to compete.
Dog Derby participants must complete the correct course or you will be disqualified.
All dogs must be kept on a leash until race is started.
Dogs may be off leash during the Dog Derby race and when it’s their time to bark.
The Dog Derby requires owners and dogs to load onto a chairlift,
if you or your dog are not comfortable with this you should not enter the Derby,
however you are welcome to enter the Barking event.
Speight’s Brewing Company is a socially responsible company;
all entrants are expected to show the same responsibly regarding excessive consumption,
drink driving and acting appropriately.
Dog Derby Competitors to have suitable footwear. Recommended shoe with sturdy sole and above the ankle support.
